Thesis of My Documentary

The social issue that I am addressing is fast food eating and obessidy. The massage is that people shouldn't eat fast food everyday. That's my message because fast food eating is not healthy. That type of food is made for eating once in a while. Everyone should care about eating healthy.

Social Issue

My opinion is that we shouldn't eat fast food everyday because it gets addictive. That's why it's hard for people to leave fast food .We should eat fast food once a while meaning in moderations. I learned that you have to try your best not to get addictive to fast food because it will be hard to give it up. I will say in my documentary that eating healthy is good for you and it will help your future. It's dangerous to eat fast food because you could end up being obessed, and you could risk you r chance of heart failier.

Reflections on Types of media

What's unique about this media is that all lot of people will get to see it because T.V. is common. A lot of people watch T.V. all the time so they will be able to see the news. What I learned about this type of media id people find out more information on things when they get to watch the news on T.V. The difference between watching news on the T.V. and news on a newspaper is that on T.V. you watch and hear the news. On a newspaper you read the news. Watching a documentary film is also another way about listening to news and watching it like on T.V. But a documentary film is posted on the internet.

The women's in this documentary was expressing them selves on what it's like to be HIV positive. In this documentary they were probably got interviewed and answer questions about themselves. Some documentaries have text/pictures. But this was just two women expressing them selves that they hope their will be a cure.

Ann Frank:Diary of a young girl recomandation

This book should be read because this book is a diary entry about a Jewish girl named Ann Frank, and it's real facts because it's about her life and the things that happened to her. Her dad discovered her dairy right after she passed away by being taken to a concentration camp. His whole family had gotten captured. Except for him. He was the only family member to escape and survive. Also not only that the story is true but she has staggering vocabulary. When you read her diary you could tell that she was an intelligent person. But people say things about her that are true. She is kind of spoiled, talkative, ect. But her way of speaking is incredible. That's why this book should be read!

Evaluation

The person in the book I like to spend the day with is Ann Frank. The day would be us talking about growing up. Things that happen to teenagers. I think we could relate to things that we have been through relationship with family, friends, ect. She will be able to connect to me because I think we have the same personalities. We both are talkative and get in trouble for talking in school.
If I visited her world it would be difficult to see her after 1942, because the war started. She would be in the Annex all the. It would be hard to visited her or to see her. If she was living in my world there wouldn't be discrimination against Jews. We will be able to be with each other all the time.

So far Ann is packing up her suitcase because her and her family have to go into hiding. Her suitcase is heavy no bothers to help. She talks about this boy Harry that she's into, and he thinks Ann is better than her friend Franny. Ann also agrees with Harry that the fact that her friends are childish. Ann was scared when there was a phone call. She that her sister Margot was going to concentation camp. But her mom will not let that happen. I can relate to Ann more than I thought. Ann is a person who likes to express her feelings in every way.

Anne Frank book club response

What I learned about Anne Frank was a girl who Likes to have fun. I can connect to her because she remind me of myself. She gets in trouble for talking a lot. Her teacher calls her a chatter box. But she is kind and caring also. When he grandmother died she was depressed but will always keep her in her heart. Since she is a Jew it was hard for her to do things she was used to do.

Alice Walker styles

She wrote during 1950-80. Three historical events that happened during her time period was 1. Vietnom war 2. Segregation. I think what influence her poetry in this time period was the unity and freedom we have now. For example, she writes about civil rights movments and segregation and ect. But now in our time period things change than the time period she grew up around. Her experiences influenced her to write about what happened in her life. She rights about peace because of where she grew up from. Her style is influency. she is influenced to right about peace, freedom, being African-American, ect. If I would have a conversation with her I would ask her "What else do you right about?"

A sonnet for the earth

The theme of the sonnet is that the poet of "A sonnet for the earth" dedicates a sonnet for the earth. The clues that gave away the theme is the title and lines from the sonnet. For example, "That are my grass and flowers and am content. Or if in flight my wings should beat so far From the kind of grass that is so cool and deep."This apply to my own life because there are things in a nature that make the earth a great place to live in. I could connect to this poem to Shakespear because he writes his sonnets with felling and strong emotions. The person who wrote this sonnet is also having the same feeling Shakespear had.

"Still I Rise" by Maya Angelo

The theme of the poem is to be perseverance. She is leaving the bad things from the past and moving on by rising up. The clues that gave away the theme was "You may write me down in history With your bitter twisted lies You may trod me in the very dirt But still like dust I'll rise." This connects to me own life because when someone makes fun or hurts me something that got in the way in my past life I look forward and rise up.

Sarah Cynthia Syliva Stout would not take out the Garbage out

The example of hyperbole I found in the poem is "She simply would not take the garbage out. So it piled up to the ceiling." The poet is saying that she have not taken out the garbage in a long time that a huge piled formed. The poet used hyperbole this way because the poet is exaggeration saying that the garbage becomes a huge pile if don't take it out. He wanted to tell that taken out the garbage should often.

Hyperbole of my dog

The examples of hyperboles I found in the poem is exaggerating saying that her girl has a big mouth like her dog. And she said "Little girl is a dog she sleeps like a dog. The poet use hyperbole this way because she wanted to exaggerate saying her baby girl has characteristics of a dog. Or it could be the opposite way. She could be talking about her dog acting like her baby. Or she could be comparing them together, like their personality.

Braver

The mood of this poem is that the poet is feeling bord. She goes through the same routine over again she wants to change something in her life. I know because in the poem it says"A variation of the boring outfit I wear every single day."The poet wrote this poem with this mood because she want change in her life. She want something different and exciting.

Bronx Masqurade

I can infer that the poem Chankara wrote refer to her sister because she had an experience her sister had. Her sister's boyfriend always beat her up. But it happened to Chankara and she does not want to end up like her sister. The best word that helps what the poet is felling is sympathy. She knows and feels what her sister went through and she does not want it to happen to her. The meaning of this poem is that Chankara does not want to feel the pain her sister felt. I think the message is to stand of your self. Have someone who has consideration for you not one who abuses you.

Poetry Response: Bronx Masquerad

What I think of the characters so far is that they expressed there feelings and their past experiences about their life. I can infer that this poem is expressing the feeling Wesley is feeling about how black people are being treated. I can infer that Wesley wrote this poem because he feels the same way that happened Langston Huge. What their poetry reveals about Wesley is that he thinks everyone should be equal and follow there own dreams no matter what color or race you are. The word that best describe how the poet is feeling is that black people should have equal rights. For example, in his poem he wrote "that we blacks folks be good at fanning hope and stroking the fires of dreams deferred."

"Stopping by the Woods on a snowy Evening"

The mood this poem creates is that the poet is tired. Other poetic devises Frost uses in the poem is repetition. He repeated the same line at the end of the poem because, he wanted to make it powerful trying to get the point across saying that he really wants to go to sleep. I can infer that Frost is a tired man because in the poem it says "The woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promised to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep. I know because of the words he expressing are deep. I can connect with his feelings because when I am in school for a long period of time, I get tired.

"I have hands like my dad"

The inferences I can make about this poem is that the boy is proud that he has hands like his father. The words that best describe what the poet is feeling is pride. I think pride is the best word describes how the boy is feeling because in the poem for example, he says "I have hands like my dad, with the way he treats me, and how I want to treat my kids, with only my hands, I have hands like my dad." He describe how his hands are like his dad and how they are alike.

O Captain! My Captain!

The meaning or message of this poem is that the poem is upset about Abraham Lincoln's death. He view him as a captain because he was a great leader of the country. He compare his death into a boat sinking since he is the captain he died. The mood the poem creates is depression because the poet is describing Abraham Lincoln as his father and how mush he means to him and the country.
I think the poet use repetition to show how he feels about Abraham Lincoln's assassination. He is calling him to see if he is still alive. In the poem he says he puts his arm beneath his head. The poet also describe him cold and dead. He sees his lips pale and still, he has no pulse or will. Other poetic devises that are used are metaphor. The meaning of this device is that he is caring and proud for everything Abraham Lincoln did.

"Today is Change"

"Today is Change"
Today is the day
A time for a change
The day Obama made his way
Put old to new
Bad things a few
Today is the day
A time for a change

Today is a change
History is made
Chill'n' in the White House
Nothing was paid
We have a black president
He is a resident
Of the U.S.A.
Today is the day
Time for a change

Title:Twilight
Author:Stephenie Meyer
I predict that Bella will tell Edward that she knows that he is a vampire. Bella one day started researching Vampires because Mr.Bonner told her stories about ware wolfs and vampires. Then she started realizing that Edward might be a Vampire. She went shopping with her friends and when she was about to go home, then Edward appeared. Bella knew that he could read minds. When he is an a certain mood his eyes turn a certain color. His skin is also very pale. Now that she puts all the clues together I think she is going to tell him that she knows his secret.

Inaugral Poem Response

"Praise song for the day" by Elizabeth Alexander
This poem makes me feel that their is someone who is willing to make changes on things that need to be fixed. The words I liked from the poem is "In today's sharp sparkle, this winter air, anything can be made, any sentence begun. On the brink, on the brim, on the cusp, praise song for walking forward in that light." I think the poet choose these words for the Inaugral poem because she is saying that there is someone that is willing to make a change. Someone that has a rived, someone we have been waiting for. Poetic devises I notice are: Free verse, metaphor.
